Where there was once an expanse of empty concrete next to a neighborhood plaza, small beds of grass were laid to introduce a biweekly farmer's market—brimming with artisanal goods and fresh produce, adding a refreshing local spirit to an otherwise staid shopping experience. I am overjoyed!...
Thank you Cyndie! ... I love that you stopped by to visit :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, as usual!
ReplyDeleteDo you ever have people ask why you're taking pictures? I often bring my camera with me, but I'm usually too timid to take pictures.
Hi Christine, thank you so much! Like you, I'm generally shy when it comes to photographing crowded places and people. But these days, I tell myself if I don't summon up the nerve to ask, I lose the opportunity (which makes me feel worse than the exercise of asking)... so I do something like this: "Hi (big smile), would it be ok if I take some pictures?" So far, I haven't had anyone ask me why or deny me the chance (fingers crossed ;)
DeleteGorgeous pictures, Catherine!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your very kind comments Melinda, merci!

Well said Valentina! Thank you for visiting...
DeleteThese are such, such gorgeous photos! I was going to ask where this is, but see you answered above. I've only been to the Dupont Circle farmers' market. How lovely that more markets are popping up in DC!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you LondonLuLu! I used to live in Dupont Circle and loved its weekend farmer's market (small world ;)... the one in MD is not as big and there's no live music, but it's still fabulous... definitely agree with you—the more farmer's markets there are in the DC area, the better!
DeleteYour writing is always so lovely, Catherine. Your coverage of the market makes me feel so alive! I can feel your excitement too. So thankful for open-air markets.
ReplyDeletep.s. I want those madeleines;)
So happy you came to visit Charmaine! Thank you for your comments, you're too kind. I really miss having a market within walking distance (like you do ;), so when this one popped up less than a mile away I was so thrilled... and thankful for sure.
DeleteThose are really beautiful photos! The market is really lovely! I hope I can go there one day.
