Happy Earth Day! Today's post showcases a small collection of her wondrous bounty...
If you've visited here before, you know I have a tender spot for the color-saturated light-filled Provençal village of Valbonne... these are some fruit displays from a typical Friday's Market Day.
Just gorgeous and so full of life! I would be there for every market if I could:) I hope you get a chance to indulge in this sumptuousness again this year - Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lulu! Valbonne's markets are definitely a feast for the eyes... hope you had a lovely Earth Day :)
DeleteWe can just feel how much you enjoy the village and its bounty through your pictures, they are vibrant really!
ReplyDeleteOn a more practical note (sorry): the prices/kg are shocking I find, especially for greens and fruits and it is such a pity that they keep going up. One should not pay a fortune to eat healthy produce, right? On this note, I suggest the following (hopeful) read: http://www.esterkitchen.com/Restaurants/les-sandwichs-de-thierry-breton-ils-ont-vraiment-tout-bon-bienvenue-a-la-pointe-du-grouin.html
Enjoy Earth Day!
Daydreamer, you're absolutely right... it's unfortunate for sure that healthy foods and organic/local products are priced at a premium (which doesn't help the health and general welfare of society). La Pointe du Grouin has it right (the sandwich had me drooling!)... if only that model of delicious quality food at a reasonable price could be applied everywhere! Thank you for sharing it :)
DeleteI would enjoy shopping at an open market like that. The produce looks wonderfully delicious!
ReplyDeleteSo much so Anne that it was hard to imagine actually eating the fruit, they were so pretty! :)
DeleteI love these, Catherine! All of the different fruits look like candy. What an abundance. Happy Earth Day to you, dear!
ReplyDeleteMy son said the same thing Charmaine! I hope you and your boys enjoyed Earth Day :)
