The days following Thanksgiving passed so quickly, and in the short time between now and Christmas, amid the sweeping rush of holiday doings, I long to slow down and enjoy the rhythm of shorter winter days, watch the migrating birds overhead and savor every bit of the waning sunlight…
How do you carve out time to find calm during the holidays?

This is so pretty. Nice blur in the image making it very dreamy.
ReplyDeleteI take a blogcation and visit some of my favorite people who give me inspiration and hope. Good season to you, Catherine.
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter bouquet.
ReplyDeleteI love this time of year, all except the stress of trying to fit it all in. I made a list this year of the things I want to and have to do and crossed off a few at the bottom. Some of those actually caused a sigh of relief! Anyway, I'm hoping that will give me extra time to really enjoy the season.
Slowing down and enjoying some quiet times with family and friends- isn't that what this season is about? Anyways- I never manage. Lovely picture!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I did and now it is a whirlwind of insanity to get us to Christmas

It's been difficult b/c it's been a mad time of year at work for me. But I think seeing beautiful sights like this, knowing there's another world out there beyond work/rushing-around has been a rather calming holiday thought:)
ReplyDeleteOne of my great desires is to slow down this time of year. I prefer intimate gatherings, rather than big parties. Movie nights, and just sitting by the fire. We have 90% of our Christmas shopping completed, so we hopefully won't have to rush around.
ReplyDeleteThe red berries against the white blurred vase -- so beautiful! I love spotting these berries out and about this time of year. Enjoy the holidays!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous image! I am really bad at carving time out for myself and I can always feel the effects of not doing so. Trying to remember that I don't have to say "yes" to every invitation and I don't have to do everything holiday related - even if it means not sending out Christmas cards or not baking cookies for a dozen different functions. :)
ReplyDeleteLike most things, you just have to make time for yourself to revitalize in the midst of holidays. Love your photo.
