After long days of metro hopping, the boys welcomed a short respite at the nearby Square Marcel Pagnol. Of the hundreds of parks, gardens and squares in Paris, this little public green space sits quietly hidden next to the iron and stone-structured St. Augustine Church in the 8th arrondissement.
The boys have been incredibly patient through the arduous process of apartment hunting - the hours spent researching, visiting, dossier building - and dutifully walking through the rain and cold and winding underground metros (where my husband swears strange diseases were created ;) Everyone's been telling me how adaptable and resilient little ones are, and you're right. I was the one worried,... and really must learn not to be.
Fortunately, the boys are very very close now to having a permanent home in Paris and a new school too...
Apartment-hunting can be both exciting and tiring... I hope it's more of the excitement for you. :) I wish you all the best and hope you find one that's perfect for your family very soon!
ReplyDeleteSo true! And it wasn't so comfortable having the owner giving me odd looks when the boys ran from room to room running and yelling! Otherwise, all went well ;)
DeleteIt sounds as if you have found your new nest... this is only the last stretch of house-hunting, right? Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOhh I cannot wait to share the new place with you! We sign the lease next week...
DeleteI can't tell you how FORTUNATE you are to be taking the adventure together! Someday you will understand why I say this to you☺Very excited to see your new apartment and how you make it a home...blessings to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Laurie... I feel incredibly blessed! xo
DeleteHooray for every little bit of progress! I hope you're on the home stretch - what a lovely set of images to mark this part of your journey and adventure. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteSo excited to get to this stage Lulu, thank you! :)
DeleteKids really are resilient and there is a huge part of me that wishes we could pick up and go live the expat life again somewhere. I always think that experiences are part of our overall education. I feel like I'm getting an education through the images you share. They are all so cheerful and happy. They make me long for adventure and culture!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your kind words so so much Kim. I've always admired your expat story and am thrilled (and pushing away all those little fears) to have my own, with my boys in tow. It is an experience I'm sure will break me in many ways (more good than bad I hope!), but I'm looking forward to it and so happy to be sharing it all with you! Who knows... maybe one day you'll make the leap again ;)
DeleteSo glad to hear everything is going great!
ReplyDeleteMA
Thank you MA :)
DeleteWonderful! And, beautiful pics too!
ReplyDeleteBlessings :-)
Thank you Kath :)
DeleteSo nice to "see" and read this update post and also nice to read that your search for a place to live may soon be ended. Kids do seem to take things more in stride than adults.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to be back online again Beatrice :) I hope to be able to post more frequently when I get settled in and set up...
DeleteI've been thinking of you and your family, Catherine. So nice to hear the little ones (and big ones) are adapting. Good Luck on apartment hunting!
ReplyDeleteThat's so kind of you Barb, thank you. I hope you and your darling grands are well, and I hope to see you online again soon. xo
