While experiencing winter like weather in Paris (
brrrr) and feeling like I'm about to see my first ever snowfall in the city, I've gotten whiplash gazing to and fro at all the ways Christmas dots the landscape. There's barely any sign of Santa but instead lots of shiny ornaments and pretty festive garlands and my favorite - glittering string lights on Christmas trees and bare branches, spreading across side streets and grand boulevards. The decor is actually more subdued than what I'm used to in the States... but it's really so lovely. No doubt
c'est Noël and everything is aglow in the holiday magic!
So the countdown begins... are you ready for Christmas?
I'll be traveling across the Atlantic to spend the holidays with my family (yay!). See you again in 2015!...
Joyeux Noël et une très bonne année | Merry Christmas & a very Happy New Year to you :)

Some gorgeous images as usual! Happy holidays to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteAnd to you as well!! Enjoy your trip - I know how precious these visits are!! (plenty of Santa on this side of the Atlantic!!)
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love the less is more approach to the Christmas decorations! It's sounds heavenly to me. Although I collect classic St. Nick's, if I never saw another Santa Claus {and there is a difference!}, it would be too soon. Joyeux Noel et une tres bonne annee! {I know just enough high school/college French to embarrass myself!}
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the beauty of the season, Catherine. Hugs to those boys and to you - have a wonderful time with your family.

ReplyDeleteHow fun and festive to see Paris decked out for Christmas! Lovely. Have a wonderful holiday season with your family! Joyeux Noel!
ReplyDeleteLucky you. I think I like the more subdued look.
ReplyDeleteSome years ago we went to States just before christmas and my daughter loved the splendour and glitter and the daily evening parade....I am more for the subdued look ,especially when I can find stalls with delicious mulled wine.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your family safe travels, a wonderful time with family and friends , a good christmas ,all the best for the next year and looking forward to seeing more od your wonderful pictures.
I would give almost anything to experience a Christmas like this. So beautiful.

ReplyDeleteJoyeux Noël, Catherine! Your little Paris collage is making me reminisce about Christmas in Paris. Such a wonderful time it was. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that the new year brings you health, happiness and prosperity.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays to you, Catherine, and your loved ones! And...welcome back, of course. I hope this year you will feel a bit more at home in Paris, a difficult city - only at first though. May you warm up to its charms and embrace your French life fully to discover its multiple facets. Again, best wishes for 2015!
